Made with advanced technology features, the cared will be made with a highly durable material that won't fade with age. Your photo and signature will be laser-engraved, offering improved security and value. Also, the new Driver Safety Rating system and Streamlined Renewal Process will begin as early as March 2010 (depending on your anniversary date). The Streamlined Renewal Process makes it more convenient for renewals. Once introduced, you will only need to renew in person once every 5 years, unless you want to change or cancel your policy. The new Driver Safety Rating is a fair, easy-to-understand, merit based rating system that rewards safe driving behavior. A sliding scale on upcoming renewal notices will show you how your driving behavior is liked to the premiums you pay. News Updated - March 12, 2009 On February 23, 2009, ING announced a major change. ING in now a Canadian-owned and led company. Along with this change comes a new name - Intact. Over the next year or so, your policies and documents will reflect that change. Although the ING name is changing, we at Turnbull Whitaker will still provide the service you have come to expect from us. News Updated - February 3, 2009 MPI has introduced the Manitoba Enhanced Identification Card (EIC) as an alternative to a passport for travel to the US by land or water. As of June 1, 2009 all Canadian Citizens 16 and older will need a passport or an approved alternative to enter the US by land or water. Manitoba's new EIC is expected to be one of the first in Canada to gain the full approval of US customs and Border Protection. The new card will be more affordable than a passport, fit conveniently in your wallet - so you never leave without it, and be secure with advanced technology features. Before scheduling an appointment you must read the applicant's guide, so that you understand and are comfortable with the application process, the questions you will be asked and how your information will be used and shared with Canadian and US authorities. The guide also provides a detailed explanation of the program, the application process, and personal privacy considerations and protections. This plan is ideal medical insurance coverage for adult-aged students attending education institutions away from home. News Update- November 28, 2008 MPI announced recently that it has a new theft deterrent program. OEM immobilizer stickers will be available, free of charge, for customers who have IBC approved original equipment factory installed immobilizer's in their vehicle and wish to identify the vehicle as being protected.

News Update - June 27, 2007 Most-at Risk Vehicles must have an immobilizer If you own a most-at -risk vehicle, it must have an approved immobilizer for you to renew your registration and insurance. This new law begins September 1, 2007. The regulations affect 47,000 vehicles in Winnipeg and that commute to the city regularly. Notice will be sent by MPI well in advance of their renewal and will be provided with the opportunity to book an immobilizer appointment. To book your appointment, please call MPI at 985-7000.

Identity Theft Manitoba insurance companies have recognized the very real threat of identity theft and are now including coverage in the home insurance packages. In some cases there is a slight additional premium for this coverage where the coverage is optional. While details vary between companies, Wawanesa have identified “Identity fraud” as the act of using, without lawful authority, your identifying information, to commit any unlawful activity that constitutes a crime or violation of any federal, provincial, territorial, municipal or local law.
